    Summary

    The Raskob Foundation is an independent, private family foundation. Founded in 1945, the Foundation is proud of its legacy of grant making and philanthropic activity in service to the Catholic Church and institutions and organizations identified with it. Currently, five generations of family members continue the vision established by its founders, John and Helena Raskob.


    Construction/Renovation Projects that cost over $200,000 are not eligible until these conditions are met:

    • 50% of the total cost is in hand;
    • Signed construction contract is in existence; and
    • Construction is underway
     

    History of Funding

    The Raskob Foundation gave a total of $6,154,823 in 2019. Past recipients include Vista Maria, Africa Faith and Justice Network, Fathers of St Edmund Southern Missions, and Catholic Relief Services - United States Conference of Catholic Bishops.

    The foundation does NOT accept applications for the following purposes:

    • Requests by or for individuals for any purpose are not accepted (including tuition, scholarships, fellowships or scholarly research)
    • Endowment Funds
    • Reduction of Debt
    • Anything completed, purchased, or accomplished prior to Board meetings
    • Attempts to influence legislation or the outcome of any specific election

    Applicants must be:

    • Tax- exempt 501(c)(3) with public charity status
    • Catholic - listed in the P.J. Kenedy Official Catholic Directory

    Deadline Details

    The foundation meets twice a year to review submitted applications. Applications must be submitted January 1 through January 15 for Board decision at the Foundation's May Meeting. Applications must be submitted June 1 through June 15 for Board decision at the Foundation's November Meeting. Similar dates are anticipated annually.

    Award Details

    Awards typically range up to $50,000.
