The Sorenson Legacy Foundation was created to improve the lives of others and the world in which we live. Founded by the late biotechnology pioneer and entrepreneur James LeVoy Sorenson and his wife, education philanthropist Beverley Taylor Sorenson, the foundation provides support for a wide range of endeavors, from community development and education to health care, scientific and artistic pursuits.
The Sorenson Legacy Foundation has been established to implement the charitable interests of the James LeVoy Sorenson family. The foundation has four focus areas:

Nonprofit agencies with a 501(c)(3) status from the IRS, municipalities, and public schools are eligible to apply. Preference is for organizations whose efforts are in Utah.
Grant applications are reviewed by the foundation's board of directors on a quarterly basis. For a grant to be reviewed in the first quarter, it must be received by December 1, annually of the prior year; the second quarter deadline is March 1, annually; third quarter deadline is June 1, annually, and fourth quarter deadline is Sept. 1, annually.
