    Summary

The Mayors Challenge, sponsored by Bloomberg Philanthropies, is designed to help hundreds of cities develop ideas that solve the most urgent problems facing cities today. The five cities with the best ideas will receive millions to implement their ideas at scale. In addition, innovation experts will visit each of the first 300 cities that sign up for the Challenge to deliver one-day city hall training workshops to accelerate idea development by drawing upon the expertise of the community.

All entrants will receive expert guidance to develop their ideas and will join Bloombergs cities network, which promotes innovations that work across cities.

    Additional Information

Each city can submit only one application, representing a single idea that addresses a specific problem.  Bloomberg strongly encourages every city to use the Mayors Challenge to help city leaders think big, be bold, and uncover new or unexpected and ultimately, shareable ideas that tackle todays most urgent problems. Successful ideas might, among other things, reimagine or drastically improve how cities delivers services, create efficiencies, or improve citizen engagement. Innovation is no longer optional.
