    Summary

    The Hyde and Watson Foundation supports capital projects in the following areas:

    1. hard costs related to purchase or relocation of facilities;
    2. building improvements;
    3. purchase of capital equipment;
    4. limited medical research; and/or,
    5. other one-time capital needs.

    Funding for these projects can be for organizations in any of the following sectors:

    1. education;
    2. social services;
    3. arts;
    4. health;
    5. religion; and,
    6. humanities.

    Generally the foundation does not make awards to individuals or for projects that will take place outside of the United States. Funding through the foundation will not be provided for leases or rentals of equipment. The following types of applications will not be funded through the foundation:

    1. applications for endowment;
    2. operating support;
    3. benefit fundraisers;
    4. annual fund appeals; and/or,
    5. applications from fiscal agents.

    Nonprofit organizations located in the five boroughs of New York City, and Essex, Morris, and Union Counties in New Jersey.

    Deadline Details

    Applications are accepted between November 15 and February 15 annually for consideration at the Spring Meeting, and between June 15 and September 15 annually for consideration at the Fall Meeting. Proposal reviews are ongoing.

    Award Details

    Grant awards traditionally range from $5,000 to $25,000.
