Eligibility Details

Community Health Matching Grant Program: Michigan nonprofit community organizations testing or validating new approaches that address community health problems.
Investigator Initiated Research Program: Eligible applicants are primary investigators with medical- or doctoral-level credentials based in hospitals, universities and health care systems. Applicants must be based in Michigan and their organizations must be nonprofit.
Physician Investigator Research Award Program: Applicants must be physicians based in Michigan.
Proposal Development Award: Applicants must be Michigan-based nonprofit community organizations.
Student Award Program: Eligible applicants are students enrolled at any of Michigan's accredited universities

Award Details

Community Health Matching Grant Program: The award offers up to $25,000 per year for two years. Matching funds are required based on the size of the organization's budget as well as the percent of Medicaid and uninsured patients served. For nonprofits with a budget of less than $10 million:
- If less than 30 percent of your organization's patient population is on Medicaid or uninsured, we require a 25 percent match.
- If more than 30 percent of your organization's patient population is on Medicaid or uninsured, we require a 10 percent match.
For nonprofits with a budget of more than $10 million:
- If less than 30 percent of your organization's patient population is on Medicaid or uninsured, we require a 60 percent match.
- If more than 30 percent of your organization's patient population is on Medicaid or uninsured, we require a 25 percent match.
Investigator Initiated Research Program: The award offers up to $75,000 per grant.
Physician Investigator Research Award Program: The award offers up to $10,000 per grant.
Proposal Development Award: Award amounts vary. Awards are up to $3,000.
Student Award Program: The award offers a $3,000 stipend for projects.
