Summary

The Lubrizol Foundation, established in 1952, recognizes employee's volunteer activities and supports our corporate interests and values. The Foundation's activities are directed by a Board of Trustees which determines its policies and objectives, elects its officers and appoints the members of its committees. The Foundation has four committees: Executive, Gift, Investment and Scholarship.
The Lubrizol Foundation makes grants in support of education, health care, human services, civic, cultural, youth and environmental activities of a tax-exempt, charitable nature. Priority is given to the greater Cleveland, Ohio and Houston, Texas areas. In addition to these activities, The Foundation administers The Lubrizol Matching Gift Program and Community Connection, an employee volunteer recognition program.

Additional Information

Prospective grantees must provide:
- Completed grant application
- Cover letter from the Executive Director or Development Director, summarizing the purpose of the request and how it aligns with Lubrizol's Community Engagement Priorities
- List of current board members or trustees
- Copy of a tax exemption letter from the IRS or equivalent proof of 501(C)(3) status
- Most recent audited financial statement
The Foundation does not support:
- Individuals
- Political organizations
- Religious organizations
- Fundraising dinners, galas, parties or sports-related events (golf outings, runs or walks)
- Endowment building or debt reduction drives
- Any organization or program that discriminates (in written policy or in practice) against any person or group on the basis of:
- Age
- Political affiliation
- Race
- National origin
- Ethnicity
- Gender
- Gender identity
- Disability
- Sexual orientation
- Religious belief
Eligibility Details

Eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations acting in areas of major company operations, with emphasis on the greater Cleveland, OH and Houston, TX, areas.
All grant applicants must be:
- a currently qualified, tax exempt, nonprofit organization under 501(C)(3) and listed as such in the current published list of the Internal Revenue Service; and
- located in and primarily serving the community where a Lubrizol facility is located; and
- willing and able to fulfill the Foundation's Reporting Requirements
Deadline Details

Applications may be submitted at any time. Requests are reviewed quarterly.
Award Details

Award amounts vary by project scope and size. Award amounts range from $5,000 to $1,000,000.
