    Summary

    The purpose of Student Support and Academic Enrichment is to improve student academic achievement by increasing the capacity of state and local educational agencies in the following areas by:

    • providing all students with access to a well-rounded education,
    • improving school conditions for student learnings to support safe and healthy students, and
    • improving the use of technology in order to advance digital literacy of all students.

    Please note that no more than 15 percent of technology funds may be used to purchase technology infrastructure such as: hardware, devices, equipment, software applications, platforms, digital instructional resources and/or other one-time IT purchases.

    Additional Information

    Districts receiving $30,000 or More MUST:

    • Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment that includes, at a minimum, a focus on three content areas:
      • Well-Rounded Educational Opportunities;
      • Safe and Healthy Conditions; and
      • Effective Use of Technology

    Districts receiving less than $30,000:

    • Comprehensive needs assessment is not required
    • Only required to focus on one of the component areas: well-rounded, safe and healthy, and technology.

  • Eligibility Details

    Florida local education agencies are eligible. Moreover, districts must provide equitable services for private schools.

    Deadline Details

    LEAs are required to submit an application to the SEA, along with their other Title funding request documents, to receive their SSAE program allocation. Contact your state education agency for more information about accessing these funds.

    Award Details

    FDOE awards sub-grants to school districts by formula in the same proportion to their prior year districts Title I, Part A allocations.
